Webpage produced under the research project Communication and memory in water governance and adaptation to climate change, supported by Fapesp - São Paulo State Research Foundation (Grant 2018/02270-9).
We seek to understand the dynamics of social, digital and communication processes that support stories, memories and narratives of adaptation to the potential effects of climate change that may have a particular role in generating resilience in communities and hydro-citizenship.

The main goal is to recognize and disseminate shared experiences of action in participatory water governance for the benefit of communities at environmental risk in order to transform the understanding of the potential effects of climate change by exploring the activation, preservation and circulation of memories and narratives through digital media. Empirical research was carried out within one of the main river basins supplying the city of São Paulo, around the respective committee: Alto Tietê (CBH-AT). The main contribution was given through the creation of actionable knowledge capable of assisting decision-making and environmental governance, developed based on organizational memories of water management and water activism stories and memories, taking the form of contents in digital media on how personal and collective involvement with actions and policies aimed at mitigation and adaptation to climate change has been developing in the country. Actionable knowledge available on an innovative digital platform, built from a framework of 'information systems in society', can be an asset to institutions of water governance and practices of public communications and popularization of science.

We recorded interviews with 45 members and former members of the Upper Tiete River Basin Committee and produced 12 thematic videos. All of these are spoken in Brazilian Portuguese, but here you find two thematic videos with English subtitles.
